Citrusleaf was founded in 2009 by database and networking industry veterans to build an optimal data storage and management system to handle the vast volumes of data created by the Internet age. The founders combined their expertise to create a new type of database built with the best practices of database and distributed technology. The first two years of the company were dedicated to developing and tuning its database technology. The resulting product, Citrusleaf 2.0, delivers reliability, linear scalability and exceptional real-time performance for high volume, data intensive web-scale and mobile businesses.

Citrusleaf 2.0 is in production use today, powering user-data storage solutions for real-time bidding for digital advertising. Common deployments are terabytes of data, billions of objects, and 100K- plus transactions per second with sub-millisecond latency.

Citrusleaf received its first VC funding round in early 2011, and is focusing on enhancing its products, building its team, and supporting its growing customer base.
